Join us in supporting Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1386, on their honorable mission to acquire a much-needed van. This van plays an essential role in their dedication to honoring our fallen heroes. When duty calls, they use it to attend funerals where they ceremoniously retire the flag, fire a solemn 21-gun salute, offer solace to grieving families, play the beautiful TAPS, and stand by the coffin if requested. Regrettably, their van is in urgent need of a replacement, as it has broken down repeatedly and cannot accommodate the firearms for military honors.
But the van’s significance doesn’t stop at funerals. The VFW Post 1386 relies on it to transport fellow veterans to ceremonies, veteran’s breakfasts, and events like 9/11 commemorations and Fourth of July celebrations. They’ve found a suitable replacement vehicle from Ulster Hose 5 that has heating, space to install a gun safe and capacity for 16 passengers – but they need OUR support to raise $30,000 to acquire it. The Post’s color guard tirelessly serves wherever a military funeral occurs in Ulster County. Let’s rally together and help these dedicated veterans continue their devoted work by providing them with a reliable van to meet their needs. Donate today and make a difference for those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
